File W-2C Online

Made a mistake in the W-2 form filing? File W-2C online to correct errors in the previously filed W-2.

What is W2C?

W2C is filed when a mistake is discovered on a previously issued W2 Form. The employer provides it to both employees and the IRS. Here are some errors that require W2C filing for correction:

  • Incorrect employee names or Social Security numbers (SSN).
  • Inaccurate wage amounts.
  • Errors in tax withholdings.
  • Mistakes in employer identification numbers (EINs).

The employer is responsible for issuing W2C in case of wrong information.

Quick Note: Starting in 2026, Social Security Administration (SSA) has introduced mandatory payer contact fields for electronic filing. The system will now require an employer contact name, email, and phone number.
